MKS Instruments is a leading worldwide developer, manufacturer and supplier of instruments used to measure, control and analyse gases during the manufacturing processes. MKS products are used in the manufacture of products such as optical filters, flat panel displays, magnetic and optical storage media, medical equipment, architectural glass, solar panels and gas lasers.

MKS Spectra engaged 257 to develop their new Cirrus 3XD Atmospheric Gas Analyser. New internal technology and packaging design gave a reduced footprint the MKS were keen to promote as a free standing or rack mounted unit.

Our scope allowed us to develop a robust visual language that would build on the MKS corporate direction and provide a confident design solution which reaffirms the technical capabilities of the new instrument. The design language developed by 257 is scalable and can be applied to future product ranges and accessories.

In addition to designing the instrument from concept to product, 257 provided an exhibition launch model machined in-house, and supporting CGI images for the Cirrus product launch,
